INSIGHTS

Most of us are guilty of sticking to what we know instead of trying new technologies and software. The Microsoft 365 suite is more robust than many people think. There are currently 28 applications in the Microsoft 365 suite, are you guilty of not making the most out of them?

Many of us are aware of or use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook daily. What most people are unaware of is the office suite’s uncelebrated Apps such as Planner, Delve, Sway and Power Automate. To prevent you from missing an opportunity to increase your productivity and workflow. We have highlighted just a few of Microsoft 365’s unsung apps that we believe could be of great use to you and your business.

What is Microsoft Planner?

Like Slack or Trello in its ability for task and project management. Microsoft Planner allows team members to create plans, organise and assign tasks to different users and create progress reports through dashboards. Files can be shared and made visible to the whole team through this one app. As part of the 365 suite, this app is free and integrates smoothly and efficiently with other apps across the Microsoft ecosystem.

What is Microsoft Delve?

Microsoft delve is an integrated app that allows you to quickly navigate, discover and search for people and information across Microsoft. Powered by the Office Graph it uses AI to map the relationship between people, content and interactions throughout the whole of the 365 suite. Delve is personalized and secure as users can only see content that they already have permission to. As well as users not being able to see private activities such as what documents they’ve read or emails they’ve sent and received.

What is Microsoft Power Automate?

Power Automate (formally Microsoft Flow) is a workflow and productivity- focused app that allows you to automate multiple tasks by combining different cloud applications. The process allows you to obtain notifications, synchronise files and collect data. An automated workflow can allow you to do things like copy files between Dropbox and Sharepoint, set up weekly notifications from a CRM system and even save your tweets to a specific Sharepoint location to name a few.

What is Microsoft Sway?

Microsoft Sway allows you to easily create documents such as Newsletters, Presentations and Communications from pre-existing templates. The striking templates make designs look professional whilst remaining effortless. You can easily add content from anywhere to customise the templates and keep designs in line with brand guidelines.

By going through some of the impressive but under-valued apps we hope this has inspired you to delve deeper into updating and improving your experience of the apps Microsoft 365 has to offer. Our advice is to keep exploring and make the most out of it.
