IT infrastructure protects all office space tenants from data security risks

Bellingham’s IT infrastructure and data security expertise has enables South Parade to implement a virtual local area network system which provides tenants with high levels of security and enhanced connectivity speeds, whilst importantly, maintaining the aesthetics of the Victorian building.

The Challenges

Creating a smart office environment was crucial in attracting and retaining tenant.  However, implementing an IT infrastructure within an old Georgian building came with its own set of challenges. It was especially difficult for the Bellingham team to install a wireless signal which was not significantly affected by the thick walls inside. Fortunately, the team pulled through and created an infrastructure that was not only efficient but also complemented the architecture.

The Solution

The unique requirements of South Parade were recognised by the Bellingham team who successfully installed a Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) solution. This enabled all users to be separated into individual network segments, ensuring each users data was invisible to others, offering a much higher level of security.  The solution also provided external guests with a network separate to those of the tenants. Any threat of malicious users accessing the buildings network traffic via switch ports was entirely removed.  With regards to performance, the solution decreased the traffic load on the network which in turn increased efficiency, meaning all users of the network experienced higher quality, higher-speed connections, wherever they were stationed within the building.
